Congratulations to our Derbyshire Scratch League team who ended the season with a perfect winning record following last night’s victory over Breadsall Priory.
Managed by John Barker and skippered by Jamie Boler the side needed to beat Breadsall Priory for a 100% record of wins after already securing the Division Three league title in their first season back in competition.
Wins for Lucas Davis (6&4), John Ward (6&4), Stephen Warne (4&2) and Ben Dawes (WO), were added to by a halved match for Leigh Brusby to secure a resounding 9-1 success.
It was great to see a number of golf club members on the course supporting the players last night.
We look forward to next season in Division Two.

Golf club members Matthew Elks and Bradley Rhodes performed brilliantly to finish second in the R&A 9 Hole Challenge.
The pair represented England at Royal St George’s on Saturday, just five days before the venue hosts the Open Championship, after qualifying via our club’s own nine-hole competition in April.
And Matt was again in scintillating form carding 23 points across the nine holes. Backed by Brad’s 13 points the pairing’s impressive 36-point haul was enough for second place – just two points off the overall winners.
With over 40,000 golfers entering the original competition, just qualifying was a huge achievement. To then go on to achieve a second placed finish against 20 other pairings was a credit to Matt and Brad.
Well done guys – you did Chesterfield Golf Club proud!
